This week I have some really great resources to share with you. There are a lot of really helpful sites which well help you improve you Chinese vocabulary, and especially helpful to the more technically oriented among you. Great podcasts and TV shows for you to choose from too:
1) Webb In China – Social Media Vocab
This week they have run a great post on all the words you could possibly want to know about social media in Chinese – podcast, crowd sourcing, hit counter – you want it, they’ve got it. Really a very useful post. Check it out. Via socialmandarin.com
2) Chinese Hacks – A New Product Hits The Market
In a similar vein to the social media post – this one is more about new products hitting the market – loosely based on the iPhone 4 being released. This a very helpful resource as they have also included example sentences, as well as both simplified and traditional characters. Via socialmandarin.com
3) HSK Flashcards – Online And Downloadable Flashcards
A fantastic site with a really useful collection of flashcards in a variety of different formats for you to check out, and not just limited to HSK flashcards either – there are also collections for the New Practical Chinese Reader, Intergrated Chinese, and more. You can download printable versions, Plecodict formatted versions, and a variety of other formats. Really very useful.
4) Sheng Ci – New Words – More Great Flashcards
Another collection of great flashcards, and a great variety of books/topics to choose from including Business Chinese, Talking About Chinese Culture, Reading China and more – really a great collection. Again can be exported in a variety of formats, or nicely formatted for printing
5) 靠谱和离谱 – A New Podcast From Slow Chinese
As always, another great podcast from Slow Chinese. Want to improve your listening skills? Be sure to check this out! Xin Yu is even kind enough to provide transcripts of the podcasts, so you can practice your reading too. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.
6) 锵锵三人行 – An Interesting Chinese TV Show (YouKu link)
This one is a great way to practice your listening. Every episode the hosts talk about a different topic, from gaokao to Sinopec, there is a massive selection available. And as the show has been around for a while, there are plenty of shows available for you to check out. Via @slowchinese
That’s all for this week, be sure to check them out, and check in again next week for more useful links.
